A spiky ridge directly across Gjende from Besseggen, with two airy scrambles.
The trailhead is near Gjendesheim in Jotunheimen, Innlandet. The walk is 12 km with 700 m of ascent and takes 4 to 6 hrs, and the usual season is July to September. The closest scenic drive is the Valdresflye route, roughly 14 km away.
Why it's loved. The quintessential 'go here instead' pick, free parking, no ferry, near-solitude.
Skip the crowds. This is the quieter alternative to Besseggen, same kind of reward, far fewer people.
