Norway's highest summit at 2,469 m, by the glacier-free Spiterstulen route.

The trailhead is near Lom in Jotunheimen, Innlandet, about 156 km from Ålesund. The walk is 13 km with 1400 m of ascent and takes 7 to 9 hrs, and the usual season is late June to early September. The closest scenic drive is the Sognefjellet route, roughly 20 km away.

Why it's loved. Standing on the roof of Northern Europe; the Juvasshytta route crosses a glacier (guide required).
