The ridge that gives the iconic photo of Segla's sheer vertical face.
The trailhead is near Fjordgård in Senja, Troms, about 58 km from Tromsø. The walk is 5 km with 500 m of ascent and takes 2 to 3 hrs, and the usual season is June to September. The closest scenic drive is the Senja route, roughly 4.4 km away.
Why it's loved. A common mistake is to climb Segla instead, Hesten is the actual viewpoint and quieter.
Skip the crowds. This is the quieter alternative to Segla, same kind of reward, far fewer people.
Season: June to September
