A classic valley walk from mountain plateau down toward the fjord.
The trailhead is near Aurland in Aurland, Vestland, about 129 km from Bergen. The walk is 18 km with 200 m of ascent and takes 6 to 7 hrs, and the usual season is July to September. The closest scenic drive is the Aurlandsfjellet route, roughly 23 km away.
Why it's loved. 'Norway's Grand Canyon'; the Østerbø to Vassbygdi day section is reachable by bus.
